Nika

Adopted

On April 13, 2024

Nika came us with two other siblings (Kaya and Karma) that were surrendered in Ocean Shores when their owner was no longer able to keep up with their care.

Thanks to an available foster and an adopter who fit Nika’s profile really well, we were able to take her in to foster and adopt her out relatively quickly. She now lives in Seattle and is the official greeter at her human’s massage therapy practice. The job comes with added benefits: massages at the hands of her owner to help Nika with her mild arthritis, free transit (like her owner she often takes the bus to work), and frequent walks in the nearby Washington Park Arboretum.

More updates from Nika’s new forever home:

“Despite having arthritis Nika and I walk a good 5-7 miles a day (not all at the same time). She needs a lot of mental stimulation also and is highly food motivated. Good thing we walk to ‘All the Best’ once a week 😂. Nika is a Water Baby. She loves the beach and waves in particular. We love to chase rabbits and squirrels in the Arboretum and we go at least 3x week. We’ve gotten to know almost every nook and cranny of Madison Park and valley, and recently we started to explore Montlake. All my clients adore her even her aroooo’s. In fact, she’s very popular in the neighborhood as one of only 2 Sammie’s. She’s still adjusting to the bus for the days I have to travel with the suitcase or we are under a time crunch, but she loves to greet the drivers.”
