Loki
Adopted
On November 9, 2024
Loki is an ex-show dog who loves to be the center of attention, and is motivated by human affection and praise more than he is by other typical Samoyed interests such as critters and treats (though he of course likes those as well).
Described as a “cuddler” and a “people pleaser,” Loki also loves the camera and the attention that comes along with it. His second favorite thing is toys, and his third favorite thing is napping on cool tile floors.
Loki is available to adopt because he and another male dog in his current household have decided they do NOT get along. Like at ALL. He’s great with people, with kids, with cats and with female dogs, but with this one male dog, not so much. A household where he gets to be the only male dog would be a great fit for Loki.
Loki also needs to take medication twice a day to prevent what would otherwise be mild incontinence. With the medication, his bladder control is normal.
Many Samoyeds in rescue have separation anxiety, but Loki is relatively chill about being left alone for stretches, and though he’s not a huge fan of a crate, he’s relatively well-behaved outside of it, though he does have a particular weakness for cardboard toilet paper rolls.
At 8 years old, Loki is playful and energetic and would be an eager companion on walks or runs. Whether active or at rest, near his people is where Loki wants to be.
