Aspen

Aspen is just shy of a year old, but there’s nothing shy about Aspen. Energetic and sociable, Aspen loves all the things: other dogs, people (adults and children), toys, tug-of-war, treats, splashing around in the water, and squirrels. 

Boy does he love squirrels. When he sees one, he’ll bark, pull, and scan the trees for more. Aspen is generally well behaved and wants to do the right thing, but at an exuberant 11 months, there’s still a lot of training to do. He’ll need someone steadfast on the other end of the leash who will commit to some structured training to help him exit his puppy phase with flying colors. 

Aspen also loves attention, but does not love being alone, which will make him moderately, if momentarily, anxious. He’s started to take to crate training well, but his ideal scenario will be an environment with minimal home-alone time. The more he gets to enjoy the company of people, kids and other dogs, the better.
